Z-CEPMaximum Demand Controller (MDC)
Paying high electricity bill due to maximum demand charge?
Depending on electricity tariff, maximum demand charge can be a high expenditure contributing to an organisation operation or production. It would be a great benefit if a facility could set a target maximum demand based on target production. Maximum Demand Controller is an operation which based on a real time monitoring platform, built with a predictive algorithm to enable you to set a target maximum demand and work within the target.
Take cases in Malaysia as an example, maximum demand is calculated every half an hour, with utility billing for the highest peak period half-hour demand recorded for the month. This makes demand controlling dynamic and must be able to calculate every half-hour. It must also be predictive – that is, after shedding the intended load, the base load power (items still in operation) will not exceed the target. Utility meters can only display the maximum demand reading after the 30-minute period has ended and this information is too late for active maximum demand control.
